Pumpkin Patch Hand-Milled Soap

Inspired by treasured trips to the pumpkin patch at Murray Family Farms in Bakersfield, California, when my children were little, Pumpkin Patch captures the warmth and nostalgia of those autumn days.

This hand-milled soap features real pumpkin and swirls of pumpkin pie spice, with cinnamon and clove essential oils for a warm, spicy scent. A few clove buds on top add a warm finishing touch.

Each bar has its own unique pumpkin and spice swirl—no two are exactly alike. Your bar’s pattern will vary, making each one a little piece of handmade autumn charm.

A little autumn nostalgia for your everyday routine.

Key Ingredients

🎃 Pumpkin — Pumpkins are a great source of vitamin B and C, which help protect skin from damage such as wrinkles.  Eating foods rich in vitamins B and C help promote collagen production and improve circulation. Overtime these benefits can improve skin tone and elasticity and increase skin cell renewal.

🌼 Ground pumpkin pie spice — Potential Skin Benefits (In Theory and Lab Studies)

  • Fights acne-causing bacteria: Clove's active compound eugenol and cinnamon's cinnamaldehyde inhibit microbes like Propionibacterium acnes in test-tube studies.
  • Reduces oxidative stress: Both spices rank high in antioxidants, which can theoretically neutralize free radicals that break down collagen.

Clove Buds — pressed into the top of every bar for beauty and a touch of botanical texture

Scent Profile

Pumpkin pie spice smells warm, sweet, and intensely woody, dominated by a bold aroma of ground cinnamon.

Ideal Skin Types
  • Oily and Acne-Prone Skin: Pumpkin contains natural alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), fruit enzymes, and zinc, which work together to regulate excess sebum, dissolve dead skin cells, and clear out congested pores. Cinnamon supplements this with its natural antimicrobial properties to target acne-causing bacteria. pumpkin gently removes surface buildup to brighten the complexion and smooth out patchy texture.
  • Mature Skin (that is not sensitive): Pumpkin is packed with antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E, which support collagen production and combat environmental oxidative stress.
Skin Types that Should Avoid It
  • Sensitive or Rosacea-Prone Skin: Cinnamon is a well-known skin irritant and a "hot" botanical. Even a small amount can cause a strong warming sensation, localized redness, flushing, or contact dermatitis due to increased superficial blood circulation.
  • Dry, Flaking, or Damaged Skin Barriers: If your skin barrier is compromised, the exfoliating enzymes in pumpkin combined with the irritating nature of cinnamon may cause burning, stinging, and increased dryness.

How to Use

Lather between your hands, onto a washcloth, or let the gently exfoliating bar glide directly on your. Rinse clean. Sometimes the simplest routines become the ones we look forward to most.
